Using Tidy up

Tidy up cleans up a form that’s close but not quite right. It finds the lines in your selection, straightens each one, and spaces performers evenly between the two performers at the ends.

  1. Select your performers. Press 2 for Select mode and select three or more performers. You can select one line or several lines at once.

  2. Click Tidy up. Click Tidy up in the bar near the bottom of the field, or under Spacing in the right panel. The button in the bar appears when three or more performers are selected.

  3. Check the result. The performers at each end of a line stay where they are. Everyone else moves onto a straight line between them, evenly spaced. Your performers stay selected, so you can keep working.

  • Several lines at once. If your selection has more than one line, like a few ranks, Tidy up works out which performers belong to each line and straightens each one.
  • Snap applies. If Snap to grid is set to Full step or Half step, tidied positions snap to match.
  • Skip it on curves. Tidy up straightens lines, so it will flatten an arc or circle.
  • Just this page. Tidy up only changes the page you’re on.
  • Need exact spacing? Use Apply spacing instead. See Setting performer spacing.
