Using the 3D camera and Director tools

The 3D view has camera views for watching your drill from different spots, plus Director tools that help you check your drill.

  1. Open the 3D view. Click 3D in the 2D / 3D switch in the menu bar.

  2. Pick a camera. In the Camera panel, click Press Box (1), 50 YL (2), End Zone (3), or Top Down (4), or press 1 to 4.

    • Press Box looks down on the field from high in the stands at midfield.
    • 50 YL is lower and closer, at the 50-yard line.
    • End Zone looks down the field from one end.
    • Top Down looks straight down, like your 2D chart.
  3. Move the camera yourself. Drag in the 3D view to move the camera, and scroll to zoom.

On an indoor floor, the camera names change to match the venue.

  1. Click a performer. In the 3D view, click the performer you want to follow.

  2. Click them again. The camera moves to that performer’s point of view. A HELMET CAM banner at the top shows who you’re following, like “HELMET CAM — T1”.

  3. Play your drill. Press the spacebar to see the show from that performer’s spot.

  4. Leave Helmet Cam. Press Esc, or click the close button on the banner. The camera goes back to Press Box.

Use these keys in the 3D view to turn each tool on or off:

  • L shows performer labels, so you can tell who’s who.
  • P shows stride paths, the path each performer takes to the next page.
  • C turns on collision check. Performers who get too close are marked with a ring, and a message near the top shows how many collisions were found, like “2 collisions detected”.
  • S colors performers by section.
