Using shape tools
Shape tools place your selected performers on a shape you draw on the field. You can place them around the edge of the shape or fill the inside with an even grid. Nothing moves until you click Confirm Shape, so you can check the layout first.
-
Select your performers. Press 2 for Select mode and select the performers you want in the shape. The shape tools stay grayed out until performers are selected.
-
Pick a shape. In the toolbar on the left, click Circle shape, Line shape, or Rectangle shape. The right panel switches Paint Mode to Shape and sets Shape to match. To draw a triangle, choose Triangle from the Shape menu.
-
Set your shape options. In the right panel:
- Even Dimensions keeps the width and height the same, for a perfect circle or square.
- Fill Shape places performers on a grid inside the shape instead of around the edge. It isn’t available for Line.
- Horizontal Step Spacing and Vertical Step Spacing set the gaps in the fill grid, side to side and front to back. They appear when Fill Shape is checked and start at 2 steps.
- Snap to Step Size sets how the shape snaps to the grid while you draw. It starts at 1.
- Step Separation sets the spacing around the edge of the shape. -1 spreads performers evenly.
-
Draw the shape. Start on an empty spot away from your selected performers and drag to set the size. Preview dots show where each performer will land.
-
Check the preview. Change the spacing or Fill Shape settings if you need to. The preview dots update to match.
-
Click Confirm Shape. Your performers move into place. To throw the shape away, click Cancel Shape instead.
- Want to redraw? Click Cancel Shape first, then drag a new shape. You can’t start a new shape while one is waiting to be confirmed.
- Count the dots. If a filled shape shows fewer dots than you have performers, draw a bigger shape or use smaller spacing. Otherwise some performers end up on the same spot.
- Done with shapes? Press 2 to go back to Select mode.
