Placing performers in an arc

To put performers in an arc, draw the curve freehand with the Paint tool. DrillFlo spaces your selected performers along the curve when you let go.

  1. Select your performers. Press 2 for Select mode and select the performers you want in the arc.

  2. Switch to the Paint tool. In the toolbar on the left, click Paint (its tooltip says “Paint (3)”), or press 3. In the right panel, make sure Paint Mode is set to Draw.

  3. Draw the arc. Start on an empty spot away from your selected performers and drag along the curve you want. DrillFlo smooths the line as you draw.

  4. Let go. Your performers are placed along the curve right away. With Step Separation at -1 (the default), they’re spaced evenly from one end to the other.

  • Set exact spacing. Before you draw, enter a number of steps in Step Separation to space performers that far apart along the curve.
  • Snap to steps. Snap to Step Size (1 by default) snaps the curve to steps as you draw. Set it to 0 for a free curve, or 0.5 for half steps.
  • Not quite right? Click Edit > Undo, or just draw the curve again.
  • Skip Tidy up on curves. Tidy up lines performers up in straight lines, so it can flatten your arc.
